About Us

Female Film Leaders was set up as a practical response to the gender imbalance which pervades the film industry.

It is a non-for-profit forum which aims to equip up-and-coming female film industry executives with the inspiration and advice they need to compete successfully at the highest echelons of the film industry. We do this by regularly inviting some of the most senior people currently working in film to come and talk openly about their careers and the lessons that they have learnt to an intimate audience of junior industry executives.

We are privileged to have the support of sponsors Sharp House, Bankside Films, Head Gear Films and Lee and Thompson.

Past Speakers

MAGGIE MONTEITH

President of Dignity Film Finance

Maggie is currently CEO of Dignity Film Finance, and before this, was US and International Marketing Director at Lucasfilm, leading marketing campaigns for huge box office feature film successes like The Wedding Planner, Men In Black, and the Star Wars franchise. Over the course of her career she's grown more and more particularly invested in diversity on and off-screen in film, looking to center the work and stories of women, and largely underrepresented cultures and races. This is most notable in the films that she's produced, such as Pin Cushion, Brotherhood, and Searching for Sugar Man, the latter of which is a documentary she EP'ed.
